Adding an artist to your favorite artists
What you can do
You can add artists you’re interested in to your favorite artists. Once an artist is saved, you can use it in these ways:
- Get notified when a new exhibition is published — get notified when a new exhibition by one of your favorite artists is published (notification setup required)
- See an artist’s exhibitions at a glance — on the artist page, see the exhibitions featuring that artist — including past ones, not just on-now and upcoming — all in one place
- See them on the Artists tab of the Favorites page — review the artists you’ve saved on the Artists tab of the Favorites page
Adding an artist to your favorite artists requires you to log in (Google or LINE).
Opening the artist page
You open an artist page from an exhibition’s details.
- Tap an exhibition you’re interested in from the list or the map to open its exhibition detail page
- Tap the artist name below the title
- That artist’s page opens, showing a description and a list of exhibitions featuring that artist
You can also search for an artist by name from the search box. Artists appear among the search suggestions, and choosing one narrows the list to exhibitions related to that artist. From there, open an exhibition’s details and tap the artist name to go to the artist page (for details, see Searching by exhibition, venue, or artist).
How to add an artist to your favorite artists
- Open the artist page
- Tap the “Add to favorite artists” button near the name
- When the “Added to favorite artists” toast appears, you’re done
Once saved, the button changes to “Remove from favorite artists.” Tap it again and a “Remove from favorite artists?” confirmation appears; choose to remove to undo it.
Viewing your favorite artists
Open Favorites from the navigation at the bottom of the screen and switch the tab at the top to Artists to see the artists you’ve saved.
From the tab, you can go to each artist’s page and immediately check their exhibitions, including past ones.
Getting notified when a new exhibition is published
When a new exhibition by one of your favorite artists is published, we’ll send you a push or email notification. It’s a notification type called “New exhibitions by favorite artists,” and it’s on by default.

Common stumbling points
- You can’t add any more — there’s a limit on how many favorite artists you can have. Remove an artist you no longer need with “Remove from favorite artists” before adding more
- The Artists tab stays empty — open the artist page from the artist name on an exhibition’s details, then add them from the “Add to favorite artists” button
- No notification for new exhibitions — you need both notification permission and the “New exhibitions by favorite artists” switch turned on. See Receive notifications for the steps
