Finding exhibitions on the map
What you can do
On the map view (open “Map” from the navigation at the bottom of the screen), the exhibitions open on the date you pick appear on the map as pins for each venue. You can browse venues around your current location and move back and forth between the map and the list while deciding where to go.
Opening the exhibition list from the bottom
Swipe the handle at the bottom of the map upward to open the exhibitions open on the date you pick as a list at the bottom of the screen. You can check the venue name, dates, and distance from your current location in the list while weighing your options against the map.
Changing the date and filters
Tap the pill with the calendar icon in the top-left of the map (for example, “May 9 · 12 results”) to open the date selector and Filters panel.
- Quick-select “Today,” “Tomorrow,” or “Weekend,” or pick a different day from the calendar
- Filter by keyword (exhibition name or venue name)
- Toggles for area, closed days, collection exhibitions, and paid exhibitions
When a filter is active, a small red icon appears on the right side of the pill. Use “Reset filters” to clear everything at once.
Tapping a marker to see exhibitions
Tap a venue pin to bring up a preview card from the bottom for the exhibitions on show at that venue. If there are multiple exhibitions at the same venue, they’re stacked vertically.
Main buttons on the card:
- View details: opens the exhibition detail page
- Nearby: reorders the list nearest first, using that venue as the starting point
- Heart icon: add to “Want to go” (login required)
When you tap “Nearby,” a green starting-point chip appears at the top of the map, and the list is sorted nearest first from that venue. Tap the chip to clear the starting point.
Current location and zoom
The controls in the bottom-right of the screen:
- Heart icon: filter to show only exhibitions you’ve added to “Want to go” (login required)
- Current-location icon: move to your current location. Your browser must allow location access
- + / − buttons: zoom the map in and out
The map is restricted to the range of Japan, and there are upper and lower zoom limits.
Planning a walk
From the “Plan a walk” button on the map view, you can bundle the venues you want to visit and set the order to visit them. For how to create one and share it by URL, see Creating and sharing a walk plan.
Common stumbling points
- Your current location doesn’t show: location access is required → When your location can’t be obtained
- “Want to go only” can’t be tapped / nothing appears: when you’re not logged in, or when you have 0 “Want to go” exhibitions, a guidance modal is shown
